Programme of events for Whit week
Seaham Harbour Marina
We will be hosting a fundraising event for the Royal National Life Boat Institute.
Seaham Harbour had its own Lifeboat for 109 years from 1870 until 1979 serving and protecting the Durham coastline. You can see the George Elmy Lifeboat, famous for its brave and tragic mission in 1962, within the East Durham Heritage and Lifeboat Centre.
The nearest stations are now at Sunderland and Hartlepool and these crews cover the East Durham coastline.
To show our appreciation for the important work carried out by these volunteer crews, we would like to raise money for the RNLI at this event by asking anyone taking part in the event to donate a minimum of £4.
Please note the Activity Centre will NOT be charging for this event.
The Walk for Life is every Wednesday - leaving from the Heritage Centre at 1pm. Anyone interested in joining us should meet at 12.50. The guided walk will last for approximately an hour and a half and do a circular route from the Marina taking in the sea, cliffs or denes.
Every week you can improve your fitness by joining in with
this walking group and meet people with similar interests.
